ten:eighteen is a mercy ministry of Christ City Church that exists as an embodied and tangible expression of God’s love and care for our neighbours. The ministry constitutes a response to Deuteronomy 10:18 (“He executes justice for the fatherless and the widow, and loves the sojourner, giving him food and clothing.”).
Our Saturday mornings offer a space where people can meet others who often face similar challenges and build meaningful relationships. In addition, eligible households can access practical support in the form of groceries, meals, clothing, and household supplies and connections to additional resources.
This team helps welcome, greet and connect with people seeking support through ten:eighteen. As a member of the Welcome and Connections team, you welcome first-time visitors, hear their stories and share the support available through ten:eighteen and the eligibility process. You serve as a key point of welcome and connection for those who are new, checking out the support available through ten:eighteen, or have further questions about the life and ministry of Christ City Church.
This team helps with some of the main logistical operations associated with making ten:eighteen function. As a member of the Logistics and Resources team, you could be involved in various service areas, including grocery operations, Thrift Room operations, setup operations, and connections to other resources.
This team helps run the kitchen, ensuring that food, drinks and coffee are prepared and served to our participant families and volunteers, and that the kitchen is left in better condition than it was found. As a member of the Kitchen Team, you could be involved in various service areas, including the cooking team, which offers the option to shape your own team, or join an existing one; the Café Team; or the Kitchen Support team.
