Luke 7:18-35

Pastor Jon Bryars examines two miracle accounts in Luke 7:1-17—the healing of a Roman centurion's servant and the raising of a widow's son in Nain—to reveal Jesus's authority over sickness and death. The centurion's remarkable faith, expressed through his belief that Jesus need only speak a word from a distance, draws a direct contrast with the unbelief Jesus encounters among Israel. At Nain, Jesus raises the widow's dead son without being asked, demonstrating that his compassion moves him to act on behalf of the vulnerable and grieving before they even cry out.
