August 25, 2024

This sermon examines James 5:7–11 and its call to patient, steadfast living amid suffering and injustice. It presents Christian patience as active preparation for the Lord’s coming, including examining one’s own heart, speaking for the oppressed, and turning to God with honest questions, while drawing on the examples of the prophets and Job. Congregants are encouraged to remain hopeful, pursue justice, and trust God’s compassion through hardship.
