Welcome Jared!

We're pleased to welcome Jared Borders, our new Pastoral Apprentice, to the Christ City Staff team. Here's a brief message from Jared.

Hi y’all! My name is Jared Borders, and I just started as a Pastoral Apprentice at Christ City. This role is a full-time position that allows me to continue pressing into pastoral ministry, while still being mentored and trained. I’m so excited and grateful to be here with you, and thank you for welcoming me so well! I just graduated from Regent College with a MDiv, and before moving to Vancouver in 2022 to start at Regent, I was living in Atlanta, Georgia in the States. 

In Atlanta, I worked as a management consultant and helped companies with cost-saving strategies, and I also helped out with a homeless case management team downtown. Since starting my MDiv, I have felt personally convicted and communally encouraged to discern pastoral ministry, and I’ve had the wonderful opportunity to do a pastoral internship at Marineview Chapel and do the Artizo apprenticeship program at King’s Cross Church in Vancouver. 

I love seeing people’s relationship with Jesus grow through their engagement with Scripture, sacrament, prayer, hospitality, and discipleship, and I am deeply drawn to be a faithful presence in the midst of the pains and questions of others. I’m looking forward to getting to know y’all better, and I’m so thankful to be a part of this wonderful church community.
